S4S Locum Team brings together experience from temporary recruitment, dental practice, dental nursing, business development, marketing, finance and people support.
Our team works closely with dental practices and locum professionals to build strong relationships, understand what people need and make sure there are real people behind the technology and every booking.
As S4S Locum Team continues to grow across the UK, our structure is developing with it — giving practices and locum professionals dedicated support while keeping the personal, relationship-led approach that has been part of the business from the beginning.

Ryan Scott
Managing Director

I am the Managing Director and founder of S4S Locum Team, with more than 20 years’ experience working in temporary recruitment and a professional CertRP qualification.
I founded S4S Locum Team in February 2018 with the aim of building a dental staffing business based on strong relationships, ethical recruitment and genuinely looking after both the clients and locum professionals we work with.
Today, my role focuses on the strategic direction and continued growth of S4S Locum Team, developing partnerships with dental groups and practices, and making sure we grow without losing the values and personal approach the business was built on.
Interests:
My spare time is dedicated to spending quality time with my wife and 3 children and also coaching Dronfield Town FC Girls Under 12’s. Despite the old age I also play football regularly myself and I am a keen runner. As well as taking part in regular running events such as the Sheffield Half Marathon, I have also previously participated in white collar boxing events too! The shape of my nose is testament to this!

“I am the Marketing & People Engagement Director at S4S Locum Team, where I lead our marketing strategies, brand presence, and people-focused initiatives. My role involves managing our social media campaigns, content creation, and engagement strategies to ensure S4S Locum Team’s online presence is vibrant, dynamic, and reflective of who we are as a company.
I have been part of S4S Locum Team since 2019 and, prior to my current role, I spent 15 years as a dental nurse, gaining hands-on experience across various specialties. My background in dental nursing, combined with my Certified Digital Marketing Professional (CDMP) qualification from the Digital Marketing Institute, allows me to effectively connect with both dental professionals and practices through engaging marketing strategies.
Beyond marketing, I am passionate about supporting our team of locum dental nurses. As the Well-Being Ambassador and a certified Mental Health First Aider, I lead initiatives to promote a positive and supportive work environment. I also organise company events, from team-building activities to social gatherings, ensuring our team stays connected and valued.

Interests
I love spending time with my Partner, our Son, Ted and our two dogs, Loki & Vin. I enjoy baking, travelling, going to the cinema, and exploring new places with family and friends.

With over 10 years’ experience in finance across retail banking, B2B, and B2C environments, I bring a meticulous and methodical approach to my role as Finance Manager at S4S Locum Team. I’m highly proficient in accounting systems and thrive on creating streamlined processes that keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
I’m a naturally positive and enthusiastic person who enjoys problem-solving and working collaboratively. I take real pride in building strong working relationships and maintaining a high standard of accuracy in all that I do. From daily bookkeeping to management accounts and forecasting, I oversee the financial health of the business and ensure everything balances as it should.
Interests:
Spending quality time with my 7-year-old son, tackling a good puzzle (numbers or otherwise!), and making the most of long countryside walks.

“I am the Business Manager at S4S Locum Team, where I lead and support our recruitment team across all of our regions and help drive the continued growth and development of the business.
A big part of my role is making sure our Area Development team has the support, direction and resources they need to build strong locum teams, develop lasting relationships with dental practices and deliver the high standards of service our clients and locums expect from S4S Locum Team. I also work closely with larger clients and dental groups, helping us build strong, long-term staffing partnerships.
Having worked as a Dental Nurse for over six years, including a year working full-time as a Locum Dental Nurse with S4S Locum Team, I have a genuine understanding of both sides of temporary dental staffing. I understand the clinical, communication and adaptability skills required from a great locum nurse, as well as the pressures practices face when they need reliable staffing support.
My clinical experience includes Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Endodontics, Periodontics and Cosmetic Dentistry, including working with high-risk patients, emergencies and complex cases within Oral and Maxillofacial departments.
I love being part of the continued development of S4S Locum Team — supporting our people, strengthening our relationships with practices and helping make sure we continue to grow without losing the personal approach that makes us different.”

Senior Area Development Manager - Midlands East

“I am the Senior Area Development Manager for S4S Locum Team’s Midlands East region, covering South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire.
My role is focused on developing S4S Locum Team’s presence across the region, building strong relationships with dental practices, understanding their staffing needs and making sure we continue to provide a reliable and high-quality service. As a Senior ADM, I also use my experience to support the wider Area Development team as we continue to grow into new areas.
Before moving into my current role, I worked as a Dental Nurse across specialist areas including Implants, Orthodontics, Endodontics and Oral Surgery, as well as working as a Treatment Coordinator.
I also spent two years working as a Locum Dental Nurse with S4S Locum Team, which gave me first-hand experience of the role and allowed me to build strong relationships with many of our practices and locum team members.
That experience is invaluable in my role today. I understand what practices need from a great locum, what our nurses need from us, and how important strong relationships are in creating a staffing partnership that works for everyone.”

“My spare time is usually spent with my fiancé and our cat, Roley Poley. I love travelling, music festivals in the UK and abroad, weekend walks and going swimming.”

I am the Area Support Consultant at S4S Locum Team, where I work closely with our practices and locum professionals to ensure a seamless, positive, and efficient experience for everyone involved. My role involves supporting our team across the region, managing bookings, building strong relationships with clients and candidates, and ensuring that our high standards of service are consistently met.
I bring over 7 years’ experience as a CertRP-qualified recruitment professional, with a strong background in retail. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about working with people and delivering an exceptional customer service experience. My genuine care for others is what drew me to recruitment—helping connect the right people with the right opportunities and seeing both clients and candidates thrive.
Before joining S4S Locum Team, I developed my skills in fast-paced, people-focused environments, and I’m proud to bring that same energy, dedication, and attention to detail to my work today.

I’m a Recruitment Resourcer at S4S Locum Team, where my role is focused on finding great dental professionals and helping build the strong, dependable locum team our clients rely on.
My day-to-day work is varied, from sourcing and speaking with potential new recruits to supporting them through the recruitment process and making sure they have a positive experience from their very first contact with S4S Locum Team.
I originally joined S4S as an apprentice without a background in recruitment, but I was immediately drawn to the role because it’s all about people. Since then, I’ve successfully completed my Level 3 Recruitment qualification and have continued to develop my knowledge and experience within the industry.
I’m also incredibly proud to have been nominated for Recruitment Newcomer of the Year at the annual REC Awards, recognising the progress I’ve made since beginning my recruitment career.
What I enjoy most about my role is getting to know people, understanding what they’re looking for and helping bring the right people into S4S Locum Team. I love being part of a supportive team and being able to see the contribution my work makes to the continued growth of the business.”
A bit about me
When I’m not at work, you’ll probably find me at a gig or festival — I’m a huge live music fan and love the energy of being in the crowd.
I’m also a big film lover, so I’m just as happy with a cinema trip or a cosy movie night. Living near the Peak District means I can escape into nature whenever I need to recharge, and I never get tired of the views.
I also love travelling and am always on the lookout for my next adventure, exploring new countries and experiencing different cultures.

Area Development Manager - Midlands West

I am the Area Development Manager for S4S Locum Team’s Midlands West region, covering the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Cheshire and Merseyside.
My role is focused on developing S4S Locum Team’s presence across the region, building strong relationships with dental practices and understanding the individual staffing challenges they face. I also work closely with the locum professionals supporting practices across my area to help ensure we consistently deliver the reliable, high-quality service our clients expect from us.
I joined S4S Locum Team in early 2026 as an Area Support Consultant before progressing into my current Area Development Manager role.
I bring a strong background in both sales and dentistry, with my previous role being Assistant Practice Manager at a Sheffield-based dental practice. Having worked in people-focused environments throughout my career, building relationships, supporting teams and delivering excellent service has always been at the centre of what I do.
My experience within dental practice gives me a real understanding of the pressures practices face when they are short staffed and the difference that having dependable locum support can make. I’m excited to use that experience to develop Midlands West, strengthen our existing partnerships and introduce more practices across the region to S4S Locum Team.”
Interests
Outside of work, my time is mostly dedicated to family and football. I play for Handsworth Ladies First Team and also help out with my daughter’s Under 12s team. Growing up in a generation where opportunities for girls in sport were limited, it’s important to me to give something back to the grassroots game and support the Lionesses of the future.
Fun Fact
To my embarrassment, I’m well known amongst friends for being able to recite the entire lyrics to Peter Andre’s Mysterious Girl — including the rap!

Area Development Manager - North West

I am the Area Development Manager for the North West region at S4S Locum Team, which covers West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria. I focus on building strong relationships with dental practices and locum dental professionals across the region. Having worked as a dental nurse and experienced locum life myself, I understand the importance of reliable support and finding the right fit for both practices and professionals.
I started my career in dentistry at just 16, joining a mixed NHS and private practice as an apprentice dental nurse straight from school. I qualified at 18 and spent three years developing my skills and gaining valuable experience working alongside different clinicians.
In July 2025, I decided I was ready for a bigger challenge and joined S4S Locum Team as a locum dental nurse. I absolutely loved the experience! Meeting new people, working in different practices and adapting to different clinicians each day really helped me grow in confidence. I've always enjoyed pushing myself outside my comfort zone, so locum life suited me perfectly.
Now, as Area Development Manager, I'm excited to use my first-hand experience to support both our clients and locum dental professionals, develop new relationships and help grow S4S Locum Team across our North West region.

Interests
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends, going on holidays and enjoying nights out with my best friends. I've always had a passion for athletics and have recently started attending hot Pilates and yoga classes.
One of my favourite experiences was travelling around Thailand for eight weeks, although there wasn't a backpack in sight! We did it Paris Hilton style with big suitcases instead.
I'm also known for being able to do a backflip at any given moment, spending far too much of my savings on holidays and never being able to say no to a sweet treat!
