We do NOT work on a first come first serve basis when it comes to allocating bookings. We book based on what suits your availability, practicality, fairness, location and past experience. We book shift’s directly on our bespoke app, there’s no need to stay vigilant on waiting for shifts to appear in a group chat.

Yes, that’s the beauty of a locum role with S4S Team! We don’t insist on any minimum amount of availability and you are in charge of your schedule and travel preferences. Let us know your requirements, and we’ll take care of the rest.

We’ll give you as much notice as possible and the large majority of our locum shifts are pre-booked. Sometimes however shifts may come up last minute so flexibility is key.

We pay all of our locum dental nurses on a PAYE basis so all tax and NI is taken care of for you. Just get your S4S Team Smartphone app timesheet signed at the end of each shift, and we take care of the rest. We pay on a monthly basis which we find this helps our team best stay organised with bills and outgoings. Payday is always the last working day of the month.

Our locum hygienists work on a self-employed basis and invoice the practice directly. All hourly rates for hygienists are agreed before each job commences and confirmed by us with the practice in advance.

We help our locum dental nurses stay GDC-compliant by offering a CPD subscription, CPD nights in partnership with a registered training provider, and offer exclusive discounts with local training providers.

To register, you’ll need your GDC registration, nursing certificate, proof of indemnity insurance, an enhanced DBS check (within 3 years), and a valid CPR and Level 2 Safeguarding CPD certificate. Don’t worry if you’re unsure—we’ll guide you through it all!
