S4S Locum Team is recruiting an experienced Dental Nurse to become one of the first members of our growing team in Scotland.
We’re offering a Guaranteed Hours position for 4 or 5 days per week, giving you a guaranteed minimum level of pay each month based on your agreed availability, while still enjoying the flexibility and variety of working across different dental practices.
S4S Locum Team may be new to Scotland, but we’re not new to dental staffing. Since 2018, we’ve built an established locum dental business supporting practices and dental groups across England, and Edinburgh is an important part of the next stage of our growth.
This is an opportunity to join us right at the beginning of that journey in Scotland — with the backing of an experienced team and the added security of Guaranteed Hours.
About the role
You’ll work across dental practices in Edinburgh and surrounding areas, providing planned and short-notice Locum Dental Nurse cover.
You’ll commit to being available for 4 or 5 agreed days per week, with a guaranteed minimum level of monthly pay based on that commitment.
The role is ideal for an experienced Dental Nurse who enjoys variety, is confident joining different dental teams and wants more predictable income without losing the flexibility of locum work.
As one of our first Guaranteed Hours Dental Nurses in Scotland, you’ll also play an important part in helping us establish the same strong relationships and reputation we’ve built across England.
What you’ll get
Guaranteed minimum monthly pay based on your agreed 4 or 5 day weekly commitment
£17.25–£20.25 per hour PAYE, depending on the type of shift you work
Higher rates within this range for same-day, weekend and specialist nursing shifts
GDC and indemnity fee reimbursement

Use of the S4S Locum Team app to manage availability, bookings and electronic timesheets

What we’re looking for
You’ll need to be:
GDC-registered as a Dental Nurse
Qualified with at least one year of chairside experience
Reliable, professional and confident adapting to different dental practices
Comfortable working with different teams and clinicians
Happy to travel across Edinburgh and surrounding areas
Available for 4 or 5 agreed days each week
Able to complete our thorough onboarding and compliance process
Someone who takes pride in representing S4S Locum Team professionally
We’ll always aim to keep bookings as practical as possible based on where you live and the travel preferences you give us.
